Education
AOS provides educational meetings and webinars with global impact that are open to all otolaryngologists, subspecialty otologists and neurotologists, audiologists and clinicians and scientists. The annual Spring Meeting is recognized as one of the most important educational opportunities world-wide and it has a robust international attendance. In addition, the AOS annual meeting provides opportunities for medical students to engage with leaders in the field and to stimulate interest in careers in otology. At the meeting, attendees participate in scientific talks, panels, committee sessions, interactions with industry, and social events that stimulate new ideas, collaboration and collegiality that advance AOS’ mission. The AOS serves to educate otologists world-wide on evidence-based advances in medicine and creates an important forum for generating new ideas with implications toward translation into new avenues of medical and surgical treatment.
AOS is co-owner and publisher of the journal, Otology& Neurotology, in collaboration with the American Neurotology Society. The Journal is the leading international publication for this field and it is the official publication partner of nearly all international otology or neurotology societies. It plays a vital role in disseminating new breakthroughs, providing education, communication, and discussion globally.
AOS’ educational focus on otologic and neurotologic disorders and scientific advances are translated to the provision of quality care that is consistent with the ACGME general competency areas and the Institute of Medicine competencies.
